While the male was a little young for this spawn, this was our last chance of crossing back to a possible melano carrying doubletail. The female was taken from the female tank so her full finnage is difficult to see. She has a lot to work on, but is an average doubletail with a lot of very good genetics. The main aim was to add the DT dorsal back into this, while adding back the melano gene. She also has a good size on her, and in her siblings which we are hoping to pass on
He is a very well balanced fish, and is fully able to carry his finnage. He is a touch too slender for our tastes, and would ideally have a broader anal fin. Hopefully this cross will be able to bring a few things together and give us some more fish to work with in the future.
