This was an interesting cross. The male was bought from Colin Dunlop (The Fish House) at the Anabantoid Association of Great Britain April 2019 meet after he placed in the class. He has stunning form for a giant and has grown since the photo above was taken. The female has a giant grandfather and has a 25% possibility of still carrying the gene. She is very different from the rest of her siblings, with a very stereotypical set back dorsal and the thick body of a giant. She is also a lot bigger than her siblings. She is a full sister to the NBS Reserve BIS Female. Her ventrals are very short and she does not reach a full 180 in the caudal, but her finnage is neat and the caudal edges sharp.

The spawn started to marble in the middle of June, with all fish starting as blue/red bi-colours. They are very unstable at the moment colour wise with dirty cellos and reddy blues. The size is hopeful at this point for either large standards or giants but it is too early to tell.
