We have a halfmoon candy! This gorgeous fish was swapped for immediately with Siam Betta before the show even started. Unsurprisingly this fish then won 1st place in the Bettas4All show on Saturday. The female is bred by Joep Esch (Betta Territory) and has blue candy siblings. While we are not expecting show fish immediately, we are expecting candy long fins in this spawn and will be picking for the next generation.

02/07/19 - Tails in the nest! So far this seems a small spawn with only a few tails hanging from the nest. Dad was initially distracted by the female so didn't look after the eggs well initially. However when she was removed he settled down to his paternal duties.

01/08/19 - Growing beautifully. About 10 fry eating Grindl worms, BBS and vinegar eels. They are starting to develop their first colours.

08/09/19 - The fry are growing very quickly and marbling is starting to be obvious with one fish losing nearly all its colour already. The first males are starting to be identified now too.

08/12/19 - Growing nicely. Two identified candies so far in the batch. Not bad for the first generation. We have a few potentials we can breed for the next generation, hopefully with the new spawn that has just hatched from the same father.
