A last ditch effort to save the doubletail dorsal in our yellow dragon line, we pulled out our retired male. While this appears a strange cross, the male spawned last year with the females mother and produced really stunning clean yellow dragons, one of which placed in the German Betta Show against imports. The aim was to cross this female to them but sadly they were too aggressive so next bet was to go to their dad. We are expecting red dragons again unless we are lucky, with butterfly patterning in the fry. He has a very nice balance to his fins, even at this age. While she comes from a very heavy finned spawn, she is light in the rays so super deltas and halfmoons are expected. The main aim is to get the doubletail dorsal into the next generation and start breeding out the shorter body tendency and the slight spoon head she has. Crossing fingers!
