A wonderful outcross to a male bred by Jolanda Wisseborn. He is a very very large fish both body and finnage, and is not far off of giant minimum size despite being genetically a standard halfmoon. He holds his fins very well and was very easy to spawn. The female is one of my favourites of her spawn (although the females were all very similar) and has also been a judge's favourite at shows.
02/07/19 -The spawn is very large so far. They are free swimming and eating vinegar eels and baby brine shrimp. Dad is still in with the spawn as he is eating well. This is proving very beneficial at this point as he is clearing up any excess BBS left over at feeding.
08/09/19 - Fry are developing well with lovely broad dorsals already obvious to see. One fry has marbled dramatically but not signs have appeared in the other fry so far.
08/12/19 - There are definitely a few nice fish but there was quite a range in quality as you can see so most will find new lives as friend's pets somewhere. Lots of very long out of balanced anal fins and one weird top line. The females are definitely nicer than the boys in this spawn. So far none are showing the promise of dads awesome size.
