Metallic Royal Blue 'Armageddon' x
Dark Body Yellow 'Vanda'
This is our form and variation breeding. With the cross we are giving ourselves the potential for giants with a very high percentage of known giant genetics, spade tails and traditional. Both fish are large compared to the normal HMPK but not at giant size. The colours have been totally stable on both fish since they developed their colouration and as such are not marbles. There are marbles in their pedigree so it is possible that we may get some though I am hoping the stable armageddon and vanda pattern breeds true. As soon as these are big enough, they will go into one of the discus tanks with lots of feeding and water changes to make sure they can reach their full growth potential.
The female doesn't like posing for photos but while watching her flaring at the male, she does have a full 180 spread and the ideal over lapping dorsal. If it was a normal HMPK breeding I would want to improve the curved rays but in this cross it is ideal. The male has a bit of a bump near the peduncle. This could have been from an injury as a fry but doesn't effect him at all.
